If you’re on the lookout for the perfect location for your special day, then look no further than St Giles House – a stunning family home that has recently gone through an award winning restoration process making it the number one choice of country house wedding venue. Call us today on 01725 517 214 for more information about what we can offer you.

The first stone of St Giles House was laid in 1650 and the location has been at the heart of politics, philosophy and social thought ever since. We are very excited to share it with you now as a country house wedding venue that will provide a stunning setting for the most memorable day of your life.

Following the Second World War, St Giles House fell into a period of disrepair even appearing on the English Heritage register for Buildings at Risk.

A comprehensive project to bring it back to life was embarked upon in 2010. This turned out to be a five year commitment and some works are still ongoing on our country house wedding venue.

Our country house wedding venue restoration project has since won several prestigious awards including:

In 2017, we will be creating an eight room en suite accommodation in the Riding House. This building was built in the 17th Century and has as much history as the St Giles House itself. We are very excited about this new restoration project and bringing another historically important building back to life successfully. You can follow our blog for progress updates and other news about this development.

Country House Wedding Venue

The main house is a stunning setting for your wedding that is full of rich history and beauty. When you choose St Giles House as your country house wedding venue, you will be able to get married in any of principle rooms. The maximum amount of guests will be 120 and we would be happy tailor the ceremony to your specific tastes and requirements.

While you will need to sign the register indoors, you can opt to have the rest of your ceremony outdoors, anywhere in our beautiful park area. This will be an ideal setting for a spring or summer wedding and will provide a gorgeous background so you can take some truly timeless photographs.

For a smaller intimate ceremony, we would recommend our romantic grotto, constructed from shells brought back from the Caribbean in the 18th Century. This option will be perfect for weddings with up to 20 guests attending.

If a spiritual approach is important, then Wimborne St Giles Church is right next door to St Giles House and has been restored by the gothic revival architect Sir Ninian Comper. This option will be most appropriate if you’re looking for something more traditional when exchanging your vows. A graceful setting, the church can hold up to 120 guests.

On top of being a highly popular choice for weddings, St Giles House is also able to host a variety of other types of events including but not limited to:

  • Anniversary parties
  • Corporate events
  • Exhibitions
  • Private hire dinners
